  • Cancellation Policy

    We are a small, nonprofit organization and do not have the ability to recover from cancellations that larger hotels do, so we have the following cancellation policy. Your understanding in this regard is greatly appreciated. Only the rental rates are used to calculate cancellation charges. All Cleaning Charges, Pet Charges, and Lodging Taxes will be refunded to the customer, only the rental rates are calculated into the cancellation charges.

    31 days or more before arrival: $100 Cancellation Charge charged, balance of deposit is refunded.
    Less than 31 days (15-30 days): We will retain 50% of the rental rate of your deposit, then refund the balance of the rental rate plus any taxes, cleaning and/or pet fees.
    Less than 15 days (0-14 days): We will retain the entire rental rate but will refund the taxes, cleaning and/or pet fees associated with the reservation.

    * Rebooking Charges

    We allow guests to change their reservation date(s) one time instead of cancelling the reservation. If you choose to rebook your reservation instead of cancelling it, your cancellation charge may be waived. The following is the Rebooking Charges schedule:
    31 days or more before arrival: $50 Rebooking Charge will be charged in lieu of the $100 Cancellation Charge.
    Less than 31 days (15-30 days): $50 Rebooking Charge and $50 per reservation day charged in lieu of 50% Cancellation Charge.
    Less than 15 days (0-14 days): No Rebooking option offered.

    If you have rebooked your reservation once and need to cancel or rebook again, you will be charged the appropriate cancellation charge as detailed in the Cancellation Policy above.

• Pet Policy and Agreement

  • Pet Charges

    Pets are welcome in Head Keeper’s House, Assistant Keeper’s Houses 2, 3 & 4 and the Bookkeeper’s Room. The charge is $25 per pet, maximum of 3 pets per house in the Assistant Keeper’s Houses 3. There is a maximum of 2 pets in Head Keeper's House, Assistant Keeper’s Houses 2 & 4 and Bookkeeper’s Room. These will be collected as part of the reservation deposit, and will be fully refunded if you cancel your reservation before arrival.

    Please note that all dogs must be on leash when outside of the vacation home, and dogs should not be left in the homes when you go out. We also expect your dogs to be kept quiet, particularly in the evenings, as a courtesy to our other guests.

    Pet & Service Animal Policy

    All pets/service animals MUST be declared at TIME OF REGISTRATION, prior to your stay with us. Please inform us of the total number of pets (3 maximum in Assistant Keeper's House 3, 2 maximum in Bookkeeper's Room, Head Keeper's House, Assistant Keeper's House 2 or Assistant Keeper's House 4) accompanying you. Please read the following, by paying your pet fee you agree to the following:

    • As a responsible pet(s) or service animal(s) owner I agree to accept full responsibility for all damages and/or unusual degree of soiling caused by my pet(s) or service animal(s) during my stay at the Point Arena Lighthouse.
    • I understand that the costs for the repair of any damages or additional cleaning required (including labor) will be charged accordingly. This includes, but is not limited to, flea treatment, stains, chewing damage, etc.
    • I acknowledge that my pet(s) or service animal(s) is required to be current on all required shots and immunizations.
    • I acknowledge that I will not leave my pet(s) or service animal(s) unattended in the unit for extended periods of time, i.e. more than 1 hour. If I am going out I will take my pet(s) or service animal(s) with me as being left in a strange location can be stressful to them and cause them to damage furniture or curtains, climb and/or sleep on furniture, bark at passers-by out windows, etc. If I have brought a pet carrier/crate, I will leave my pet(s) or service animal(s) in the pet carrier/crate if I leave them in the unit alone.
    • While outside of my unit, I will keep my pet(s) or service animal(s) leashed at all times for the health and safety of other guests and visitors.
    • I acknowledge that I will walk my pet(s) or service animal(s) to relieve it of bodily functions on the outer perimeter of the lodging houses as defined by the sidewalks that run in the front, back and sides of each unit. As much as possible, I will keep my pet(s) or service animal(s) away from the side of buildings and flower beds. I am also responsible to clean up any refuse produced by my pet(s) or service animal(s).
    • I will not use the bath and kitchen towels provided in the unit to dry or clean my pet(s) or service animal(s). The white towels in the unit are for guests only. (If you have not brought towels for your pet or service animal, S&B Market in Manchester (6 miles north of the Lighthouse on Highway 1) sells towels and other pet items.) We typically leave a towel labeled PET for you upon check in and you are welcome to use this towel on your pet.
